Wilson senior tight end Tyler Beck, a First-Team Pennsylvania Sports Writer Quad-A All-State pick and Lancaster-Lebanon League All-Star, has given a verbal commitment to accept an athletic scholarship to continue his scholastic and football careers at Bowling Green University, a Division I program that plays in the Mid-American Conference.

This past season, Bowling Green went 7-6 overall, including a loss to Idaho in the Humanitarian Bowl on Dec. 30.

Beck, who was also named All-State by the Pennsylvania Football News and Eastern Pennsylvania Football, had 35 catches for 677 yards and seven touchdown grabs last fall for Wilson, which went 11-2 overall, including a loss to eventual champ Cumberland Valley in the District 3 Quad-A semifinals.

The Bulldogs won the Section 1 title with a 7-0 league mark.

Beck, a sturdy 6-3, 230-pounder, will play for Pennsylvania in the Big 33 Game.

MORGAN COMMITS TO KUTZTOWN — Wilson senior wideout Johnny Morgan, who tied Tyler Beck for the team lead with 35 catches — for 466 yard and two TD — last fall, has committed to Division II Kutztown University, which competes in the PSAC Conference.

The sleek 6-0, 150-pounder was also dangerous on special teams for the Bulldogs.

Last fall Kutztown went 1-6 in the PSAC East and 3-8 overall.
